    PROGRAM INFORMATION

    Chestnut Hill College’s APA-accredited Psy.D. degree is a 6-year cohort-style program that admits students for fall semester start only. Our program is designed to allow for both Year I and Year II standing upon admission to our program. Students who are offered admission into Year I vs. Year II meet the following admissions requirements:

    Did/will you complete a General Psychology course with a grade of B or better?
    Did/will you complete an Abnormal Psychology course with a grade of B or better?
    Did/will you complete a Statistics course with a grade of B or better?
    Did/will you complete an additional psychology course with a grade of B or better?
    Did/will you complete a supervised master's level field placement lasting at least three semesters for a total of 700 hours?
    Did/will you complete three 3-credit graduate-level courses that cover theories and techniques of psychotherapy, all completed with a grade of B or better?
    Did/will you complete two 3-credit graduate courses in Couple and Family Therapy where a systemic focus is the treatment approach?
    Did/will you complete a 3-credit graduate-level course with a B or better in each of following: group therapy, culture and gender, human development, psychopathology, research design, and ethics?

    Year 1:

    • If you have met the requirements for admission, you can continue to the application process by go to the bottom of the page and click 'Continue'
    • If you have not yet met the requirements for admission, you must complete the missing coursework with a grade of B or better and submit the transcripts prior to beginning class in late August. Classes may be completed at your current or past institution, a community college, or through an online college or university.

    Year 2:

    • If you have met the requirements for admission, you will be asked to submit syllabi for all relevant coursework in order to establish substantial overlap between your coursework and the program coursework. If you are not able to transfer in enough credits to be considered a Year II student, it may be possible for you to enter as a Year I with a reduced first-year course load by transferring in credits for foundational courses.
    • If you have not met all the requirements, you will be asked to submit syllabi for all relevant coursework in order to establish substantial overlap between your coursework and the program coursework. If you are not able to transfer in enough credits to be considered a Year II student, it may be possible for you to enter as a Year I with a reduced first-year course load by transferring in credits for foundational courses.
    The Psy.D. program requires full-time, matriculating study.
